How to Add CloudwaysCDN on JoomlaNovember 8, 2017

We assume that you have already activated the CloudwaysCDN for your Joomla application. If not, please visit this KB before proceeding further.

Step 1: Download and Install the Extension

CDN for Joomla! is an extension for Joomla that allows an easy integration of Content Delivery Network (CDN). The extension is made to work with any CDN system, and the process of integration is just a piece of cake.

Download CDN for Joomla! extension from this link.

Note: The free version of CDN For Joomla! doesn’t support HTTPS. If you need HTTPS support, you will have to buy the paid version of the extension.

Step 2: Integrate CloudwaysCDN

Login to the Cloudways Platform and go to Application Management tab. Click the CloudwaysCDN option and a new screen. On this page, you can find the Website URL and the corresponding CDN URL.

Login to your Joomla Admin Panel.

Navigate to Extensions > Manage > Install.

Click Upload Package File and upload the extension file you downloaded earlier.

Now, go to Extensions > Plugins from the top menu.

Search for CDN, and click the plugin CDN for Joomla! to edit the settings.

Enter the CloudwaysCDN URL in the CDN Domain field.

We recommend you fill out the other options as shown below.

Tap Save & Close button. You’re all done!

Step 3: Verify CloudwaysCDN on Joomla

To ensure that CloudwaysCDN has been integrated correctly, just visit your Joomla application and view the source code of any page to confirm that the CDN URL is being used for static assets instead of your origin URL.
