How to Monitor Traffic Statistics of an Application?

In this article, you will learn about viewing the traffic statistics of an application such as IP requests, bot traffic, status codes, and URL requests. It is recommended that you keep an eye on traffic statistics to ensure that your application is working flawlessly. You can also check the server and application monitoring section of the platform to view the statistics of your server and the application’s health.

Visiting the Application Monitoring Section

The following steps will demonstrate how you can view the statistics mentioned above, so firstly we need to access the application monitoring section of the platform.

Step# 1

Log in to Cloudways Platform, click on the Servers tab from the top menu bar and choose your target server.

Next, click on the www icon located on the right-hand side of the server tab.

Select a target application from the drop-down list.

Step# 2

Click on the Monitoring option from the left menu bar, then click on Analytics and choose Traffic from the given choices.

Traffic Monitoring Section

This section presents vital statistics such as top IP requests, bot traffic, URL requests, and web request status code, which allow you to monitor and analyze your website’s traffic and health easily.

IP Requests

Click on the IP Requests tab and select the time duration (e.g., one hour) to view the top IP requests on your web application along with the request count.

You can also see more details about the specific IP request by clicking on Details.

Bot Traffic

Click on the Bot Traffic tab and select the time duration (e.g., one day) to view the top bots sending traffic to your application.

URL Requests

Click on the URL Requests tab and select time duration (e.g., one day) to view the top requesting URLs of your web application along with the request count.

You can also view the IP address requests along with the request count against that specific URL by clicking on Details.

Status Codes

Click on the Status Codes tab and select the time duration (e.g., one day) to view the web request status codes of your web application along with the request count.

You can also view the URLs request along with the request count against that specific status code by clicking on Details.
