What Happens After Unsubscribing?
Your Cloudways Autonomous plan is unsubscribed immediately.
Billing for the Autonomous plan stops.
You can subscribe to Cloudways Autonomous Plan again anytime if needed.
How to Unsubscribe from a Legacy Cloudways Autonomous Plan
If you are on an older (legacy) Autonomous plan, the unsubscription process differs slightly from the standard flow. This section covers two scenarios:
Scenario 1: Your application is still active.
Scenario 2: You have already deleted your application.
Important:
Deleting your application(s) does not cancel your Autonomous plan. Billing continues until you explicitly unsubscribe.
You cannot unsubscribe while an application is still installed. You will see: “You have 1 app installed, please delete that app to unsubscribe the plan.”
Unsubscribing is permanent for that plan. If you need Autonomous later, you will need to subscribe again.
Before deleting, back up any data you want to keep. Deleted applications can only be restored through Recover Application.
Scenario 1: Your application is active
Step #1: Open Plan Overview and check your plan
Log in to the Cloudways Platform.
Click Autonomous in the left sidebar.
Click Plan Overview.
Your current plan price (for example, $90/mo) appears at the top right, beside the Manage Plan button.
Step #2: Open Manage Plan
Click Manage Plan.
The Manage Your Plan window shows your current plan highlighted, with an Unsubscribe button.
If you click Unsubscribe now, you will see an error telling you to delete your installed app first (Screenshot 4). Close the window and continue to Step 3.
Step #3: Delete your application
Click Autonomous in the left sidebar, then My Applications.
Locate your application and click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right.
Click Delete Application.
In the confirmation window, read the warning: “Deleting your last app doesn’t cancel your plan. Unsubscribe your plan to avoid ongoing charges.”
Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
Click Delete.
Step #4: Unsubscribe from the plan (Screenshots 8–12)
After deletion, an Application Deleted Successfully window appears. It shows your monthly charge (for example, “You are being charged $90 per month”).
Click Unsubscribe Plan.
On Why are you unsubscribing from the Autonomous plan?, select up to 3 reasons and click Next. (Next stays disabled until you select at least one.)
On Please tell us a bit more about your needs, select the options that apply and click Next.
On Give us a chance to make it up to you, you can click Book a Call to speak with the Product team, or click Unsubscribe Plan to continue.
On Thank you for your valuable feedback, click the red Unsubscribe Plan button to confirm.
Click I’ve Changed my mind instead if you want to keep the plan.
Note:
Your plan is cancelled only after this final confirmation. Closing any earlier window leaves the plan active and billing continues.
Scenario 2: You already deleted your application, or closed the window before unsubscribing
If you deleted your application but closed the Application Deleted Successfully window without unsubscribing, your plan is still active. The unsubscribe option is not directly visible on the My Applications page, so use the steps below.
Click Autonomous in the left sidebar, then My Applications.
Click Recover Application at the top right.
The View Plan Details option now becomes available. Click it.
Review your plan information and click Unsubscribe Plan.
Complete the feedback steps (reasons, needs) and click Unsubscribe Plan on the final screen, exactly as in Scenario 1, Step #4 (items 3–6).
Important:
Clicking Recover Application only opens the recovery options. It does not restore anything unless you select an application and confirm. If you only want to cancel, do not restore.
That’s it! We hope this article was useful.
