This knowledge base explains how you can clone your application on the same server on which you are running it. You can do this to create different environments (dev, test, prod …) to integrate into your development workflow. If you pair application cloning with our git deployment feature, you can build powerful and simple workflows.

Step 1: Login into the Cloudways console
Click here and log in with your credentials.
Step 2: Go to Application Management
Tap on “Applications” on the top menu bar and then select your target application from the list.
Step 3: Clone Application
- Click on the “Access Detail”, we have picked a Magento application.
- Then, click the floating action button located at the bottom right of the page.
- Finally, click on the “Clone App” button to clone your app.
Once you have taped on “Clone App”, a message pops for you to choose a server. Pick “ the Same Server” if you want to clone your app on the same server, otherwise select your server from the list, and then tap the “Submit” button.
Step 4: Cloning successfully completed
Note: First you update the database to version MySQL 5.6′ or ‘MariaDB 10. Otherwise, an error message pops up for you.
After upgrading our database to the version mentioned above.
You get a message after effectively finishing the cloning process, and you can get to the cloned application.
