How to create Magento Custom Maintenance Page

There are many ways to create a Magento Custom Maintenance page but in this KB, we are explaining to you the easiest way to create it from your Magento Admin page.

Once you log into your Magento Admin panel, follow the steps outlined below:

How to create Magento Custom Maintenance Page

Step 1: Navigate to Pages Section

Go to the CMS tab and click on Pages.

Step 2: Add New Page

On the next section, click on Add New Page in the top right corner.

Step 3: Complete New Page Form

When on the New Page, fill the form as per your requirements

Step 4: Add Content Heading (Optional)

Go to the Content option and enter Content Heading (optional). You can type any message in the text box and put any image, as required. For example, we have added a maintenance image as shown below.

Step 5: Remove Default Contents of Your Magento Application

Then, go to the Design tab, click on the Layout drop-down menu and select Empty to remove all the default contents of your Magento Application, and then click on Save Page.

Step 6: Flush Magento Cache

Once successfully done then, you need to flush all Magento cache. Go to Cache Management via System, select all the items, and click on Flush Magento Cache.

Step 7: Navigate to Configuration Section

Click on the System tab again and then on Configuration.

Step 8: Final Configuration

Finally, perform the following steps:

  • Click on the Web option and select Default Pages.

  • Click on the CMS Home Page drop-down menu and select the page you created

  • In CMS No Route Page, select the same page again

  • Select No in Show Breadcrumbs for CMS Pages.

  • Finally, click on Save Config.

You have successfully created a Custom Magento Maintenance Page.
