A: Yes, you will get all the same features using Rackspace Email Addon which you will get directly from Rackspace i.e. 25GB mailbox, Secure IMAP (Outlook & Mobile), domain aliases, Web-based, anywhere access and a lot more.

Q: Can I setup a separate Rackspace account for my clients?

A: Yes, you can setup a separate Rackspace account for your clients. For that, you just need to provide us the domain and email box details and we will take care of the rest.

Q: How can I configure Rackspace email settings (IMAP/SMTP) on my outlook / IOS/mobile application?

Q: What is the difference between POP3 and IMAP?

A: POP3 is used to download mail to a single device. The main usage of POP3 is to import emails and delete it from the sender location. IMAP, on the other hand, is used for connecting multiple devices to forward email.

Q: Can I use Rackspace for transactional (server’s outgoing) emails?

A: Rackspace is for mailboxes (i.e. me@mydomain.com) sending and receiving emails both. While transactional email service is used for outgoing emails only i.e. email (subscribers, order confirmation, and marketing etc.) sent from application/websites. Furthermore, Rackspace comes with a limitation for outgoing emails and you cannot use it for mass volume transactional emails. We suggest you use our SMTP (Free) or Elastic Email (Paid) Add-ons as an alternative.

Q: How can I add multiple addresses per domain, and forward these emails to different and unique addresses?

A: You can do that by using the Alias feature. Alias is used to forward all emails from an alternate account to your main email id. For example, if you have an email yourname@yourdomain.com and an alias as alias@yourdomain.com then all mail sent to alias@yourdomain.com would be forwarded to yourname@yourdomain.com.

Q: How do I setup Alias for my emails?

A: Alias is setup through our ticketing system when you subscribe for an account. Simply, use the notes section to add the information of the alias setup you want to be created.

Q: Is there any additional cost for using an alias?

A: Creating Alias generates no additional cost.

Q: Can I have more than one Alias for an email account?

A: Yes, you can set up multiple aliases.

Q: Is there any limit to using an alias?

A: There is no limit to using an alias with the same domain for your mail box. However, there is a limit of 4 alias for external domains that can be used as aliases (gmail.com, hotmail.com…etc).

Q: What is email forwarding?

A: Email forwarding is when mail is forwarded from one account to another.

Q: How do I forward Rackspace email?

A: This can be done directly by using the alias feature. To use it simply add the information of the forwarding required in your notes section.

You can also set this up from your Rackspace webmail directly. Simply go to Settings > Incoming mail > Forwarding.

Q: Is there any additional cost for email forwarding?

A: There is no additional cost for forwarding emails.

Q: What are catch-all emails?

A:  Catch all email is when you have any email sent to any mailbox within your domain and it is being forwarded to a single mailbox. For example, if you have a mailbox yourname@yourdomain.com and use catch-all email, then any email sent to anyname@yourdomain.com would be sent to yourname@yourdomain.com.

Q: How do I setup my email to catch all mail?

A: This can be setup when you subscribe to a mailbox. All you have to do is simply update your notes section that you want catch-all mails.

Q: Can you migrate my email from my old hosting to Rackspace?

A: Yes, you can avail this option when you subscribe by updating this in the notes section.

Q: Is there any cost for email migration?

A: Yes, we charge $10 for email migrations per mailbox.
