Cloudways uses an email address rather than a username to uniquely identify you as an account holder. When you first sign up with Cloudways, you are asked for an email address. The same email address is used for logging in to the Cloudways Platform and can be changed in your account settings.
If you have forgotten your login email address, we recommend you check all of your email inboxes, as you must have got emails from Cloudways. If you still find it difficult to retrieve your email, drop us an email at [email protected].
How to Change Your Account Email Address
Here is how you can change your Cloudways account email address in a few simple steps. We recommend using the up-to-date email to which you have access all the time. In addition, it helps us reach out to you with important information. Get to know more about some web hosting alternatives.

Before changing your Cloudways account’s email address, there are few important things to consider, such as:
If you change your Cloudways account email address, your Cloudways API key will also update. This means you will need to reconfigure any integrations or applications that use the Cloudways API with the new API key. Please refer to our Cloudways API Guide for detailed instructions on generating a new API key and setting up your integrations again.
Only customers with a full account (not on trial) can change their email addresses.
The email address can only be changed once.
Ensure your new email address is not previously registered with Cloudways as a trial/full account user or team member.
Two Factor Authentication must be turned off temporarily before updating the email address. Once the email address is successfully updated, you can turn on Two Factor Authentication.
Step #1 — Navigate to Account Settings
Log in to your Cloudways Platform using your email address and password.
Step #2 — Update Email Address
Under the Profile tab, navigate to the Email and type your new email address.

Once you have typed your new email address, click Update Profile.

Now, you will see a small disclaimer along with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. After reading it, ✓ checkmark it to accept the terms.
Next, enter your Cloudways account login password.
Finally, click Continue and Logout. You will be logged out of Cloudways Platform so you can log in again with the new email address.

Once the email is updated, a notification about the change of ownership will be sent via email to the old and new email addresses.
